HONDA MARINE STRIPER FEVER CLASSIC OPEN TOURNAMENT

Tournament Rules

1) ELIGIBILITY - The tournament is open to the public. Each contestant must hold a valid Texas fishing license (if applicable). There is a limit of four (4) contestants per boat, eight (8) rods per boat. The Captain must comply with all State boating regulations. Local Striper fishing guides will be ineligible to compete unless they have been retired for a minimum of two (2) years.

2) FEES & REGISTRATION - Entry fee is $300.00 per boat. Mailed in registration forms and entry fee should be mailed to Striper Fever Classic, 243 Alexander Dr., Tow, TX 78672 and postmarked no later than one week prior to the tournament to insure their timely arrival before the tournament. Registration will be accepted by telephone at 325-379-2051 if using a credit card for payment. On-site registration will be on Friday from 5pm to 7pm, May 5, 2006. All persons aboard a competing boat MUST BE registered with tournament officials. An optional $50 per boat will be collected prior to the event for the Big Fish pot. This is separate from the main competition. Only those participating in the Big Fish pot will eligible to win the pot contents. The Big Fish pot will be distributed to 1st (50%), 2nd (30%) and 3rd (20%) of the total pot for those big fish.

3) HOURS - Tournament starts at 6am. A timed, orderly release of boats may be required by the Tournament Director to ensure a safe start. Tournament hours are 6:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday, May 6, 2006.

4) WEIGH-IN & LOCATION - Weigh-in will be held at Hi-Line Lake Resort at Tow, Texas. The actual weigh-in site will be pointed out to all entrants at the on-site registration Friday night.

5) WINNERS & POLYGRAPH - In the event of a tie, contestants will participate in a coin toss to decide a winner. A polygraph test may be given at the discretion of the tournament director. Failure to take or refusal to take the polygraph will result in disqualification from tournament without refund of entry fee. Protests must be submitted in writing within thirty (30) minutes of the final weigh-in. Protestant must present incontestable proof of any claim of cheating or otherwise breaking of Tournament rules, otherwise protestant may be subject to disqualification. Decisions of the Tournament Director are final.

6) FISH - All fish become the property of the tournament director, other than trophy fish that may be returned on request.

7) RULES - All contestants must comply with the following rules and all Local, State, and Federal Laws. Texas State fishing laws are defined in the Texas Parks and Wildlife handbook. Failure to comply with the rules or receipt of a violation during tournament hours will be grounds for disqualification. Culling: Any fish kept in possession for more than one minute cannot be culled or released. Any fish that does not swim away immediately upon release, must be kept. Fish kept alive by any means are considered in possession. Each contestant may only keep five (5) fish for the day. Equipment & Lake: Fish must be taken on rod and reel only. Live or artificial baits are permitted. Fish must be caught in the tournament lake, on the tournament date and only during tournament hours. Official boats, well marked, will be on the lake to assist anglers and enforce rules. Safety, Etc.: All contestants must wear life jackets in compliance with Coast Guard and State Regulations. Alcoholic beverage consumption during the tournament will be allowed, however, any person displaying signs of being under the influence will be disqualified. No illegal drugs of any kind will be tolerated during the tournament. All local, state and federal laws must be obeyed. Weigh-in: The Captain of the competing boat must weigh in the boat's fish. A maximum of two (2) fish per competing boat may be brought to the weigh-in and considered for the cash prize winnings. Contestants must be in the weigh-in line before 3:00pm. No late fish will be accepted under any conditions. Fish do not have to be alive, but brought to the weighing station in a cooler or water bag. Dead fish will be inspected by Texas Parks and Wildlife inspectors to determine how long fish has been dead and if they qualify for weighing. Only two (2) fish will be allowed for weigh-in per team. Trophy fish will be returned upon request.

These rules are subject to revision. Final rules will be discussed at on-site registration on Friday night.
